How To Get A Six Pack Abs

Getting a six pack abs has become a concern for many individuals these days, particularly men. The increasing awareness on health and fitness has led to guys doing everything to shed their beer bellies and instead develop a ripped midsection.

One of the more popular misconceptions is that the best way to get six pack abs is to do hundreds of crunches every day. In reality, however, doing crunches will not make the midsection lose those unwanted flab. Crunches can only cause strain on the back. Getting a ripped midsection requires losing weight, maintaining a healthy diet, and regular exercise.

There is no special diet required to get six pack abs. The key is to keeping a low calorie diet that will result to lower body fat. In fact, one can still eat junkfood and get a sexy midsection as long as there is minimal intake of calories. One can estimate the number of calories required in weight loss by multiplying the body’s weight in pounds by 14. Subtracting 100 calories from the diet is needed to advance one’s weight loss efforts.

Aside from lowering the body’s calorie intake, a person also needs to keep a high intake of calories. Protein is  needed by the body in muscle building, it particularly assists the muscles in recovering from strenuous activities. At least a gram of protein for every pound is required by the body to develop a well ripped midsection.

Of course, working out is needed in order to whip that midsection into shape. Working out a full body exercise regimen is ideal. Typically, exercises using free weights like bench press, squats, bicep curls, dead lifts, pull ups, and triceps extensions are done by those wanting to have six pack abs. Cardio can also help in burning those unwanted fats and toning the muscles in the midsection.
